Doing music for children just started as a natural branching off of doing music with
some of the kids I worked with in the classroom. Being a speech therapist in the schools
led me to work with students who learned best through music. Autistic, learning disabled,
and mentally challenged students enjoyed working and learning through music. I spent
many hours playing songs and working with music with these students ranging from 3 to 23.
I decided to record some music and try my hand at writing some songs for kids. The
result was
a double CD I wrote called "Musical Word Magic". This cd has 26 songs all written,
arranged, played and recorded by me. It was a great way to
learn the art of recording and what to do and not do in
the studio. I had a great teacher, Dominic Cretacci
who also helped me through this project.
In this cd you will meet many characters that are also
illustrated with a colored drawing. The intent of Musical Word Magic was to expose children to new adventures in life learning about new animals and situations that they become involved in. The songs will not only entertain but they will teach as well. The worlds of Andy through to Zippy are just a touch of the keyboard away. Happy singing!
